December 1st, 2007: Independence Abstract & Title Agency will be renamed North American Title Agency

Independence Abstract & Title Agency, a Cherry Hill, NJ based title insurance and settlement services firm serving New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York, announced today it will be changing its name to North American Title Agency.

Independence was acquired by the North American Title Group, Inc. - a Fortune 150 subsidiary in 2006. Over the coming days, Independence will be proudly changing its name to North American Title Agency to match its parent company. "We are changing our name, but not who we are. Expect the same great people delivering the same great service you have come to rely on", said Jack Lyons, President of Independence about the change.

As part of the North American Title Group Family of Companies, North American Title Agency is able to offer expanded services and more resources. August 30, 2007: Independence Abstract and Title Agency Now Accepting Orders for NY Title Insurance

Independence Abstract & Title Agency, a member of the North American Title Family of Companies, announced the addition of the State of New York as part of its portfolio. IATA is now accepting orders for title insurance and closing on properties throughout the entire State of New York, including New York City, giving the Northeast Division of North American Title Company complete coverage for all of NJ, PA & NY.

The acquisition of Independence in New Jersey marks North American’s entry into its thirteenth market – North American already has operations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C. “Independence provides North American with a foothold into a growing market and an opportunity to further expand the North American brand. December 29th, 2004: Independence Abstract & Title Agency is excited to announce the expansion of its Cherry Hill Office effective January 10, 2005.

The new space will be located on the fourth floor of the current Cherry Hill office at 1040 Kings Highway North and occupied by Independence Abstract & Title Agency’s Foreclosure and REO departments.

December 23, 2004: Independence Abstract & Title Agency will participate in presenting a one-day seminar entitled “Selling Foreclosed Properties in New Jersey”, in East Brunswick, NJ, on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Ramada Inn located off Route 195. Registration begins at 8:30AM and sessions will run from 9:00AM through 4:30PM with a lunch break.

Juan C. Perez, Esq., General Counsel of Independence Abstract & Title Agency’s legal department in Cherry Hill, NJ, along with other expert faculty, will be providing tips and techniques for handling the buying and selling of foreclosed properties in New Jersey, alternatives to foreclosure and the sale of the property. Juan has over twelve years of experience in real estate and commercial litigation and is also responsible for overseeing the foreclosure department and serves as Vice President of Independent Legal Services, L.L.C., Independence Abstract & Title Agency’s affiliate.

This program, provided by Lorman Education Services, is designed for attorneys, presidents, vice presidents, loan officers, collection managers and real estate professionals and meets certain continuing education credit requirements.

December 10th, 2004: Independence Abstract & Title Agency announces the opening of its second Pennsylvania branch on January 3, 2005, servicing Philadelphia.

All title insurance services offered through Independence Abstract & Title Agency will also be available at the new branch located on the first floor at 310 S. Juniper St.

December 1, 2004: Independence Abstract & Title Agency announces the grand opening of its new branch location servicing Ocean County, New Jersey. A grand opening reception will be held today from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at the new office located at 830 Radio Road in Little Egg Harbor.

All title insurance services offered through Independence Abstract & Title Agency will also be available at the Little Egg Harbor branch.

October 27, 2004: Independence Abstract & Title Agency will hold its second in a series of seminars to educate realtors on industry related topics at Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor, NJ on Wednesday, November 3. The seminar, co-sponsored by Investment Property Exchange Services, Inc. (IPX1031), begins with a continental breakfast at 8:30AM and concludes after speaker presentations and audience questions at 11:00 AM.

Industry related topics will include: understanding recent changes to New Jersey’s Realty Transfer Fee effective August 2004, benefits of the IRS §1031 Exchange Process as an investment property solution, and how to protect against consumer fraud claims.

Juan C. Perez, Esq., General Counsel of Independence Abstract & Title Agency’s legal department in Cherry Hill, NJ, will review the detailed process and documents involved in the new Realty Transfer Fee Revision. Juan has over twelve years of experience in real estate and commercial litigation and is also responsible for overseeing the foreclosure department and serves as Vice President of Independent Legal Services, L.L.C., Independence Abstract & Title Agency’s affiliate.

Scott T. Rotkowitz, Esq., an exchange property representative for IPX1031 in Cherry Hill, NJ, will discuss how to save on capital gain taxes by investing in a like-kind exchange. Scott writes and lectures on IRC §1031 tax deferred property exchanges and manages the State of New Jersey for IPX1031.

In addition, Darryl S. Beckman, Esq., counsel to Budd Larner P.C. in Cherry Hill, NJ, will give an overview on how the real estate industry can protect itself from growing consumer fraud claims. October 9, 2004: Independence Abstract & Title Agency is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Charity Golf Outing benefiting Robins' Nest will be held Thursday, October 14, 2004 at the Buena Vista Country Club in Buena, NJ. The event will kickoff with lunch and registration at 11:00 AM followed by a shotgun start and a full reception dinner.

Robins' Nest was founded in 1968 to address the needs of abused and neglected adolescent girls. Within a year the agency opened New Jersey's first community-based group home for girls to provide a more compassionate alternative to institutional care. In 1983, the techniques that had brought Robins' Nest success in the residential program were utilized in the design of a strength-based family treatment program. This innovative in-home program expanded the agency's services to boys and girls of all ages. During the past three decades, Robins' Nest has continued to respond to the unmet needs of children with the development of a wide variety of innovative and effective treatment programs.

Independence Abstract & Title Agency's principals Joan & Jack Lyons have been advocates for the Robins' Nest since attending their first Robins’ Nest “Egg-Stravaganza” Silent Auction in 1999. Joan Lyons currently serves as a trustee for Robins’ Nest and the Event Chair of the Robins' Nest Annual Gala. Last year Independence Abstract’s 1st Annual Charity Golf outing raised $10,000.00 which went directly to services benefiting children in need in our South Jersey area.

March 15, 2004: Independence Abstract & Title Agency announces the hiring of Juan C. Perez, Esq., as General Counsel of its legal department.

As General Counsel, Juan will supervise underwriting activities and clearing complex title matters. He will also be responsible for overseeing the foreclosure department while serving as Vice President of Independent Legal Services, L.L.C., Independence Abstract & Title Agency’s affiliate. Juan brings over twelve years of experience in real estate and commercial litigation to his position.

“We are confident in bringing Juan on board in this new role that was initiated by the explosive growth we have experienced recently,” said Jack Lyons, President. “Juan’s detailed expertise in real estate law will be a great asset to our organization.”

Juan, is past Chair of the District IV Ethics Committee (Camden/Gloucester Counties) and is a member of the Camden County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association and the New Jersery Hispanic Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida. Juan received his B.S. degree in Secondary Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley in Michigan.

All title insurance services offered through Independence Abstract & Title Agency will be available at the Ocean City branch.
